Hospital Discharge Rights

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule effective July 2, 2007, concerning how hospitals must provide notification to Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage (MA) beneficiaries who are inpatients about their hospital discharge rights. In addition to affecting MA plans, these regulations affect hospitals and provider groups delegated for inpatient utilization management.
